The Quick and Easy Tissue Pouch

This week's tutorial is a nice accompaniment to the Tulip Bag we made last week. It takes very little fabric but makes a gorgeous gift.

Materials:

- 5 1/2" x 6 1/2" Outer fabric

- 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" Lining

- Please note the lining forms the false binding on the front, therefore it is the larger piece.

Step 1

- With the fabrics laying landscape, place the fabric right sides together matching the left hand side.

- Pin and sew 1/4" seam.

- Lift the outer fabric towards the right side.

- Pin and sew the right hand seam. (Making a tube)

Step 2

- Turn the tube right side out.

- Press leaving the false banding equal on both sides.

Step 3

- Find the centre of the pouch.

- Place a pin on either side.

- Fold edges to the middle, overlapping seam by approximately 1/8".

Step 4

- Sew 1/4" seams along both edges.

- Neaten the raw edges.

- Trim the corners and turn pushing out the points.

The finished Tissue Pouch can be embelished with buttons or beads as desired.

I hope you enjoy making this gift and I would love to see pictures of what you have made.

You can always contact me if you need further assistance.
