Snowman Wall Hanging / Table Runner
This super easy wall hanging can be made into a veriety of things such as a cushion, a table runner or even a quilt depending on the size of squares used or the number of additional rows added around it.
Materials
22 x 4" Squares
1 x 7 1/2" Square (white)
4 x 2 1/2" Squares (To snowball the 7 1/2" Square)
1 x 7 1/2" x 18" Rectangle (White, Body)
3 x 2 1/2" x WOF strips for binding
Scrap of orange fabric for the nose
Scrap of bondaweb
6 x Buttons
Using the grid, the outer 22 squares form the border, the inner ones are the snowman. The head covered 4 squares, the body coveres 10 squares. Sew 1/4" seam througout.
Step 1 (The photo shows step 1 on all 4 corners)
- Place one of the small squares at the top left corner of the large white square.
- Sew diagonally from the top right to the bottom left of the small aquare.
Step 2
- Trim away the outer corners
Step 3
- Fold the green flap over and press to form the square.
- Repeat with all 4 corners
Step 4
- Then join the head to the body (Not shown)
Step 5
- Arrange the 22 squares around the snowman to give a balanced look.
Step 6
- Join squares 2 and 3 from the top row together.
- Press seam
- Join to the head
- Repeat with squares 2 and 3 from the bottom row
- Press seam
- Join to the bottom of the snowman
Step 7
- With the right sides of the fabric facing, join the 9 squares down the left hand side.
- Press, join to the left side of the snowman.
- Repeat with the right side.
Step 8 (Not shown)
- Sandwich the backing fabric, wadding and the top layers together.
- Quilt as desired.
- Bind the edges.
